TINA HASHEMI

featuring vibraphonist OLIVER MAYMAN

TINA HASHEMI

“A great jazz singer with ears to burn! […] a rising star!” — JOHN D'EARTH

Tina Hashemi is a jazz vocalist based out of Central Virginia and Philadelphia. She began her studies with Danielle Wertz in high school and went on to graduate from the University of Virginia, where she studied jazz vocal performance under Stephanie Nakasian and John D’earth.

Her pure, unaffected tone, her sense of swing, and her creativity as an improviser with big ears and stores of imagination has made her a favorite with some of the most advanced musicians in the Virginia/D.C. area. Paul Langosch, who played with Tony Bennett for decades, Daniel Clarke, who was KD Lang’s pianist, Devonne Harris, member of Butcher Brown, and tenor saxophonist Charles Owens are now colleagues and fans of the sweet sensibility she brings to classic jazz standards and the Great American Songbook. In 2024, Tina was awarded 3rd place in the international Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition based out of Blues Alley that was judged by the New York Voices.

Tina has headlined venues such as Blues Alley, The Paramount, Gallery 5, and the Ting Pavilion. She has also performed multiple years at the MAD Jazz Festival and the Lake Anna Jazz Festival. Beyond performing, Tina has also led masterclasses at Eastern Mennonite University and for private voice studios.

Tina is in the process of recording a new album with some old and newfound musical friends. Her growth as an emerging artist continues as she explores her own unique voice in jazz music.

Vibraphonist Oliver Mayman is a composer and educator based in Philadelphia. Beginning on the drums and piano, the vibraphone was an apt discovery as a teenager – the instrument fusing the mechanics of drumming with the harmonic capabilities of the piano. He has since become a distinguished voice on the instrument, reimagining its role in music through an inventive technical approach and a discerning creative ear.

He has performed as a bandleader across the Midwest and East Coast at storied venues like Cliff Bell’s, the Blue LLama, and Chris’ Jazz Cafe, and has also been featured in several larger, iconic events like the Detroit Jazz Festival and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. He also has extensive experience as an educator, teaching a handful of vibraphone students in addition to being on faculty at vibesworkshop.com, the largest online vibraphone community in the world. He earned a B.M. in 2023 from Temple University, studying with Tony Miceli and Bruce Barth, and endorses Malletech instruments and mallets.

Tina's quintet also includes Garen Dorsey (piano), Randall Pharr (bass), and Kofi Shepsu (drums).

With only 100 seats, shows at Révéler are intimate and immersive. A romantic venue with exquisite sound and dreamy vibes, Révéler offers a unique selection of beverages and small plates crafted with care. We kindly ask guests to keep voices low during the show so that everyone can focus on the performance.
