The Blue Guitar is an instrumental guitar trio that plays everyone’s favorite rock, pop, R&B and jazz classics – playing music that is the perfect background ambiance for a gathering of friends, while at the same time offering up unique instrumental arrangements that you can truly “sink your ears” into!
The band’s name and inspiration comes, not from the color of Dave’s guitar (that came later, LOL!), but from a Wallace Stevens’ poem dating back to 1937:
They said, "You have a blue guitar, / You do not play things as they are." / The man replied, "Things as they are / Are changed upon the blue guitar." / And they said then, / "But play, you must, / A tune beyond us, yet ourselves, / A tune upon the blue guitar / Of things exactly as they are."
The trio includes Dave Schieferstein (guitar); Jorge Santamaria(drums and percussion); and Andy Penland (bass).
With only 100 seats, shows at Révéler are intimate and immersive. A romantic venue with exquisite sound and dreamy vibes, Révéler offers a unique selection of cocktails, wines, beers, bubbles, and non-alcoholic beverages. Our kitchen delivers small plates crafted with care.
