Philly duo Soporus found their way to ambient music from a background in instrumental rock. They create glacial drone soundscapes with dense layers, mixing guitar and bass with synth and other electronics. The result is music both haunting and beautiful.
Carolyn Zaldivar Snow is a field recordist and journalist whose work explores a variety of textures, with a toolkit encompassing hydrophones and modular systems. A genuine community builder, Carolyn writes for Tape Op Magazine, Mystery Circles, and The Tonearm. She also manages the Philadelphia Synth Library studios and co-directs the Sound Scene festival at Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
J&R’s Music World is the project that launched Sunday Soundtracks! Johnathan Rickman and Robert Salsbury’s unique take on bedroom electronica is very hands-on and whimsical, combining drones, melodies, and drum machines.
