An evening of eclectic jazz originals and standards led by a phenomenal vocalist with an all-star band.

Jazz vocalist Maddy Curtis has been singing her entire life. Her tone and phrasing harken back to the great jazz and old Hollywood vocalists of yesteryear like Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, and Doris Day. Critics have described her performances as "hauntingly beautiful" (DC Metro Theatre Arts) and "soulful beyond her years" (Simon Cowell, American Idol Season 9). And most recently, Necci at Richmond's Auricular described Maddy as "a soulful vocalist who brings a retro-jazz sound that feels like it stepped right out of the World War II era".

Maddy's love of beloved jazz standards is evident in her original compositions. Her own jazz/sometimes indie songs call back to that era, and weave a modern twist of heartfelt lyrics and soul accompanied by her own dreamily atmospheric ukulele tones and her ridiculously talented and musically intentional friends who make up the rest of the quartet.

The quartet includes Quincy Harmon on piano and trumpet, Jack Byrnes on bass, and Stephan LaRue on drums.
