Jermaine Holmes is a Grammy Award-winning vocalist whose soulful voice has captivated audiences worldwide. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Jermaine’s musical journey began in the church, where he learned that what the choir was doing was “just as important as the preacher” – a philosophy that continues to guide his approach to music as a ministry in itself.
As a member of D’Angelo & The Vanguard, Jermaine contributed to the critically acclaimed album “Black Messiah” (2014), which won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards in 2016. The album also earned a Grammy for Best R&B Song for “Really Love.” This project marked D’Angelo’s triumphant return after a 14-year hiatus and showcased the incredible collective talent of The Vanguard.
As the lead vocalist for legendary producer Pete Rock’s band, Jermaine brings his soulful energy to the fusion of classic hip-hop production and R&B vocals. This collaboration showcases his versatility and deep understanding of hip-hop culture. Pete Rock, known as one of hip-hop’s greatest producers, has worked with legends like Nas, Public Enemy, and countless others. Jermaine’s role as lead vocalist continues this legacy of excellence.
Working with renowned producer and musician Daniel Lanois represents Jermaine’s willingness to explore atmospheric and experimental soundscapes. This collaboration pushes creative boundaries and showcases a different side of his artistry. Daniel Lanois has produced albums for U2, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and many other legendary artists. His approach to ambient and atmospheric music provides a unique canvas for Jermaine’s vocals.
Jermaine has also collaborated with Grammy-winning drummer and producer Nate Smith. His vocal performance on the single "Juke Joint" was showcased on Smith's album LIVE-ACTION (2026 Grammy for Best Alternative Jazz Album).
DJ Harrison is a 2 x GRAMMY nominated artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He has released several albums as a solo artist including two on Stones Throw, Tales from the Old Dominion and HazyMoods, and in February 2024, he released Shades of Yesterday, a new album of cover versions made up of the deep cuts and beloved hits that make the artist who he is today. The record pays homage to Harrison’s musical heroes, looks back to his upbringing in Richmond, VA, and nods to the influence of his contemporaries.
But Harrison is not only known for his work as a solo artist. He has created a vast catalog of compositions under his producer moniker, including with Phonte, Steve Arrington, Pink Siifu and Joyce Wrice. He has also contributed to music for artists such as Jack White, Natalie Prass, Sherman Holmes, and Kurt Elling – winning two Grammy nominations for his work on Elling’s most recent albums – and he is a member of the band Butcher Brown.
