Curt Sydnor is a Virginia-based concert pianist, composer and music educator. Equally at home in classical, jazz and contemporary music settings, Curt has graduate degrees in classical and jazz piano performance (double major) from the prestigious Jacobs School at Indiana University, where he also served on the faculty, and classical piano from the world-renown Russian Academy of Music, Moscow.
In March 2020 he released his second album Deep End Shallow on NYC-based Out of Your Head Records. Everything Is Noise called it "absolutely nothing anyone would've expected." Take Effect calls it "one of the most atypical listening experiences of 2020." Something Else! says it "appreciates with every listen." Sydnor plays organ at historic St. John's Church in Richmond and plays keyboards for Javanese composer/singer Peni Candra Rini. He has released six albums under his own name of mostly original music. In 2022 he received a recording grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts to complete his sixth release, Air Ride Equipped
