An evening of electrifying reggae performed by a powerhouse band led by one of Virginia's most extraordinary vocalists.

SISTA NICKEY is a dynamic and passionate vocalist with a career spanning over three decades who uses her powerful voice and expressive presence to inspire, educate, highlight social justice and community commitment. She has had the privilege of opening for and providing live and studio backing vocals and percussion with several of reggae’s major artists such as Anthony B, Corey Harris, Glen Washington, Johnny Osborne, Taj Weeks, Ziggy Marley, Akae Beka, The Itals, The Melodians, The Meditations, and Raging Fyah as a solo artist and as a former founding member of Mighty Joshua & The Zion #5.

Sista Nickey is accompanied by THE ONE DROP COLLECTIVE. Founded as a monthly roots community jam in 2023 with Chris “Peanut” Whitley of Stable Roots Productions (keys, production, MD), the full One Drop roster includes musicians: Joshua David Robinson Poole (guitar, bass), Drummah Jay Smith (drums), Marcus Eshadd Parker (drums), Joe Bailey (djembe, vocals), Ralph “Cruical Fyah” Dujour (bass, vocals), Orville “Iratio” Balfour (keys, vocals); its operational core – “The Lady Drops!” – Ayanna McMullen and Shani Bakari-Holmes; and audio engineer Tony Elam. The One Drop Collective emphasizes unity and camaraderie, an energy palpable from the stage as they operate the organization on the foundational ideal: Stronger Together.

At the heart of Sista Nickey's work is her passion for helping others find their voice and employing music as a tool for healing and empowerment. In addition to full time performance Sista Nickey wears several other creative hats – vocal arts and performance coach, event host, and managing consultant for the arts. With her unique blend of talent, experience, and dedication, Sista Nickey McMullen is a force to be reckoned within the music industry and her commitment to using her influence for positive impact has made her a beloved and respected figure in the artistic community and beyond.
