Révéler Cabaret: Swingin’ Jazz, Vibrant Burlesque, and Mesmerizing Poetry

Révéler Cabaret: Swingin’ Jazz, Vibrant Burlesque, and Mesmerizing Poetry

Révéler presents a magical, intoxicating cabaret show packed with exceptional performers and wild surprises.

This cabaret variety show features an exquisite jazz quartet, vibrant burlesque, mesmerizing poetry, a glamorous hobo, champagne, elegant snacks, and one rather hilarious game. Not all at the same time, of course.

Emcee Carmel Clavin conjures a spell of spectacle and mirth, while weaving songs of love, loss, and gothic soul into the proceedings. She will make you laugh a lot and cry a little at the same damn time and for all the right reasons.

In the music spotlight, an exquisite jazz quartet featuring Michael Hawkins and the Brotherhood with special guest Marty Nau on tenor saxophone. Marty played with such big bands as the “Blues Alley Big Band”, Bill Potts Big Band, and Guy Lombardo. He has performed with the National Symphony and Richmond Symphony and has backed up such performers as Dizzy Gillespie, Eddie Daniels, Stanely Turrentine, Joe Williams, Rosemary Clooney, Ethel Ennis, Nancy Wilson, Maureen McGovern, and Snooky Young. Also performing: Dr. Weldon Hill (piano), Mike Hawkins (bass), and Billy Williams, Jr. (drums).

Burlesque performer Evelyn Devere began her striptease career in 2010, subsequently producing the Ménage à Trois Burlesque and vaudeville revival troupe Carnivalesque. In 2016, Evelyn co-founded the Wham Bam Glitter Glam touring show, showcasing the fabulous variety of performance styles within burlesque.

Delivering poetry fire is the RVA-based collective The Writer's Den, founded by Virginia's inaugural poet laureate Roscoe Burnems.

Complimentary champagne and elegant snacks available, as well as a cash bar with groovy cocktails and a kitchen sending lovin’ from the oven.
