Corey Fonville, an influential drummer in today's music scene, has dedicated his life to learning the craft and its history in order to be one of the best drummers of his time. As an artist and music-enthusiast, he studied a variety of genres, mostly through his fathers music collection, which generally consisted of jazz, R&B, alternative, and funk. His skills are rooted in an eclectic background and call attention to the fact that music is hard to typify. Almost immediately after completing his studies at The Brubeck Institute, he began traveling the world with notable artists such as Nicholas Payton, Jacky Terrasson, and Christian Scott. Corey is currently working with Christian Scott Additionally, Corey has his own band Butcher Brown which he plans to continue recording with them and hopes to keep building an international fan base. Corey was nominated for a Grammy in 2023 in the Best Alternative Jazz Album: SuperBlue: The Iridescent Spree.
Andrew Randazzo is a passionate musician whose love for music transcends genres and roles. Based in Richmond, VA, he is a versatile freelance bassist, adjunct professor of bass at Virginia Commonwealth University, and an integral member of the soul fusion quintet, Butcher Brown. Randazzo's musical essence lies in crafting infectious grooves that honor tradition while pushing the boundaries of contemporary music.
DJ Harrison is a 2 x GRAMMY nominated artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He has released several albums as a solo artist including Tales from the Old Dominion and HazyMoods, and in February 2024, he released Shades of Yesterday, a new album of cover versions made up of the deep cuts and beloved hits that make the artist who he is today. Harrison has created a vast catalog of compositions under his producer moniker, including with Phonte, Steve Arrington, Pink Siifu and Joyce Wrice. He has also contributed to music for artists such as Jack White, Natalie Prass, Sherman Holmes, and Kurt Elling – with two Grammy nominations for his work on Elling’s most recent albums – and he is a founding member of Butcher Brown.
Marcus "Tennishu" Tenney is a Richmond-based artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist blending hip-hop, jazz, soul, and electronic textures into a deeply personal sound. Best known as the trumpeter, saxophonist, and MC for Butcher Brown, he’s also carved a unique solo path marked by introspective lyricism, cinematic beats, and spiritual overtones. His solo projects—including More To The Story, Non Violent EP, and Forward EP—capture moments of growth, reflection, and resilience, with production that fuses analog warmth and digital experimentation. Tennishu’s artistry lives at the intersection of raw emotion and refined skill, offering music that’s as thought-provoking as it is sonically rich.
